Tadalafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction (inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection), symptoms of the enlarged prostate gland in male (benign prostatic hyperplasia) such as difficulty while urinating, painful urination and urinary urgency; and increased blood pressure in lungs (pulmonary arterial hypertension).

WORK MECHANISM:-

Works by increasing blood flow in the penis by relaxing and widening the blood vessels and helps achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. By improving the blood flow to the prostate and relaxing the muscles in the prostate gland and the bladder, tadalafil helps to relieve urinary symptoms. Similarly, relaxation of blood vessels in lung leads to lowering of blood pressure.

SIDE EFFECTS:-

Dizziness, headache, dyspepsia, flushing, swelling of eyelids, eye pain, conjunctival hyperemia, back pain, myalgia, visual disturbances, nasal congestion, sudden decrease or loss of hearing, tinnitus.
Potentially Fatal: Stevens-Johnson syndrome, exfoliative dermatitis, severe cardiovascular events e.g. MI, stroke, sudden cardiac death.
Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
 Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture.
Do not store above 30 degrees Celcius. Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

HEALTH ADVICE:-

  • Do not take Tadalafil medicine if you are suffering from blood disorders such as sickle cell anaemia, leukaemia and multiple myeloma.
  • Avoid using the medicine if you are allergic to Tadalafil or similar drugs.
  • Be cautious while using Tadalafil if you have any kidney or liver impairment.
  • Seek doctor’s advice before using any other drug or herbal products while on Tadalafil.
  • Do not exceed the dose more than what is prescribed.
